Bye-Bye Dark Circles!

For many of my viewers who are 25 years of age and older, you may be seeing dark circles making an appearance under your eyes. I don’t know about you, but looking like a raccoon isn’t going to be a part of my aging process! Recently I started noticing the dreaded dark circles appear under my own, so I decided to take immediate action. First of all, I researched possible reasons why the skin is darkening. The top reasons that I found were; allergies, aging, fatigue, eye strain from looking at screens, dehydration, over sun exposure, and/or genetics. Basically the dark circles form because the blood vessels are either getting enlarged under the skin due to strain, or the skin is thinning causing the dark blood vessels to become more visible. Now knowing this, I tried to get more sleep, I dimmed the lights on all my screens to cause less strain, and I increased my water intake (although I typically drink about 2L of water per day). On top of making all of these upgrades, I also purchased Oils of Life™ Intensely Revitalising Eye Cream-Gel from The Body Shop! This gave me one extra step to add to my skin care routine, and to be honest, I’m quite pleased with the results.

Let’s be clear about a few things, 1) this is not an ad, 2) results may vary per person. I’ve paired using this cream-gel with a few lifestyle upgrades so these too have played a role in the lightening of my dark circles.

I used Oils of Life™ Intensely Revitalising Eye Cream-Gel every night for about a month and I definitely started seeing a difference. I’d say the skin under my eyes are back to their original colours. A little truly goes a long way with this cream-gel. The product comes in a small jar, and dotting a little bit of the cream (the size of half a rice grain) will cover your entire eye, including the outer corners. On top of lightening dark circles, this product also claims to reduce fine lines. I don’t have fine lines or wrinkles anywhere on my face, so whether or not this is true, I couldn’t say. I read a few reviews about this cream-gel and it appears that for some, it didn’t help too much with fine line reduction, so if fine lines are a concern of yours, this product may not be ideal for you. Also note, that the depth of the fine lines and wrinkles and the cause of them may be why this wasn’t as effective on these clients as it may be for others. With all of that said, keep in mind those types of issues happen in the dermis layer of the skin and topical creams don’t typically fix these types of problems *cue Botox and laser skin rejuvenation.* Aside from that, I definitely recommend this product! Especially if dark circles are your concern, the Oils of Life™ Intensely Revitalising Eye Cream-Gel by The Body Shop may be what you’re missing in your skin care routine!
